We understand you're having trouble with iMessage on your MacBook Pro. We'd be happy to help you troubleshoot this.
Start out by making sure you're signed into iMessage: Set up Messages on Mac - Apple Support
After that, try to add your name and photo in the General tab.
If you're still unable to add your name and photo, try restarting in safe mode and try adding those details again:
