Removing items from the desktop

I moved a system component out of my MacBook Air out of curiosity, and don't know how to remove it from the desktop and only show it on Finder. I'm worried that if I move it to the trash and empty it, it would destroy my Mac. How do I remove items from the desktop and only show it on Finder?

I'm running macOS Monterey 12.6.8. My MacBook Air (Early 2015), cannot update to Ventura.

From where did you remove it? You can’t move system components, only copy them.

If it was really moved, it wasn’t a system component. If you just made a copy, you can delete it.

The Desktop is the Finder, so I don’t understand what you want to do.
