iPhone plays music out loud when I remove AirPods from my ears.

Here is a copy of a 2021 post.

‘Often, when I take my AirPods (second gen, non-pro, non-max) out of my ears, my iPhone will start playing a song through Apple Music. Usually it was the last song I had listened to.

This only happens every once and a while, but it is a pain. I’ll take my AirPods out after a phone call, or some casual listening, and all the sudden, my phone will begin blaring music at 100% volume. I’ve tried hard resetting them. The problem comes back anyway.’

I found another one with the same issue from December 2018 with the same response of “turn off the automatic ear detection” and “reset the AirPods” to which the user responded “resetting didn’t fix the issue” and “you mean your solution is to turn off a main feature of the AirPods? Unsatisfactory.” A reasonable response to a sketchy fault that has remained in corrected for years now.

I have exactly the same issue in 2023. I have reset the IPods 3rd gen non pro, iPhone SE. I have restarted music, looked for options to correct this issue in settings and my os is up to date…

My iPhone plays the last track I was listening to at full volume on my iPhone’s speaker when I take the AirPods out of my ears after a phone call. Very embarrassing in public.

When will Apple investigate and solve this annoying issue?

iPhone SE, iOS 14
