How can I receive AIrDrops from an admin profile rather than the owner MacBook profile??

For safety/security reasons I felt that it would be wiser to use a secondary account as my primary on my MacBook. Please let me know if this is a ridiculous notion. Essentially, I felt that by not having access to certain things, I would limit the scope of potential negative events which could harm my device/the media on said device? (A windows nightmare horror story prompted my switch to Apple.)

Anyway I can not receive air drops until I switch to the primary profile on this laptop, one I never use.

whats my best option here? switching to that profile or is there a way to receive air drop as a secondary profile?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.7

Having most users set up with only 'regular, non-Admin" account, but having an Admin account available is a fine idea. I set my wife's computer up that way. When installing anything, I just have to enter the Admin username as well as the Admin password.

But honestly, I don't think that has ever really 'saved the day' on anything, over many years. MacOS protects itself pretty well, and has for years.

I used mine that way as 'regular, non-Admin' for a while, but I am too much of a wire-head, and always fiddling without stuff, and it made things too difficult. Eventually, I gave it up and it re-added Admin privileges to my account.

Mac Protections are really VERY good. The pinch-point is at making things executable. NOTHING can become executable without you entering the Admin password. starting at MacOS 11, the system is on a locked, signed Volume that can not be written using ordinary means, and if it gets modified, that will be detected quickly.

This means you could load your Mac up with hundreds examples of known virus software, and not be threatened at all. They may be present, but they are NOT executable. and can not become executable without your Admin (username &) password.
