Time Machine Standard account

I have 2 TM backups on separate drives attached via USB.

I would like these drives to just mount when there is an administrator login.

How do I stop these drives from mounting when a standard user logs in ?

You can't, TM is not designed to work that way.

It's a safety net and once setup it functions regardless of user; it protects the computer, not just a certain user.

Is not the standard user's data important to him/her?

Time machine automatic backup when only standard user logged in Say I have two users/accounts configured on the same MacBook: Admin Standard Time Machine configured to "Back Up Automatically" to network connected HD (Time Capsule). Initial backup done from Admin account. Question is if I restart MacBook and login as a Standard user only, will auto backup still work, or should I login as Admin to continued backing up (hourly/weekly/etc...)

Time Machine Permission Denied Hello, I used a new disk that I did not realize was formatted APFS to back up my work computer that was running Big Sur before I moved across the country. Upon my arrival 2500 miles away, I realize that I do not have permission to access most of the backed up folders on this drive. I've tried on two computers, including one running Monterey. Interestingly, I notice that the individual backups have disk icons next to them instead of folder icons. I know the login for the computer that was backed up, so I should be able to gain permission if I can just find where to enter that. When I click Get Info on one of the restricted folders, under Sharing & Permissions, it says "You have no access" under names, it shows "Fetching" perpetually having "Read & Write" and below that "everyone" has "No Access." Please help! I can't plug it into the originating computer, and I need to access this information. Thank you, Allison
