Will the 3rd generation remote work with a first generation Apple TV
We have a broken 1st generation remote and need to replace it.

- The old style Apple Remote (aluminum) is for use with legacy models Apple TV (3rd generation or earlier). It will also work with later models, but doesn’t have enough buttons for all functions.
- The Siri Remotes (1st to 3rd generation) will work with all model Apple TV HD (4th generation) or later, including all 4K models. The Siri Remote (any model) will not work with legacy devices (models from before 2015). ➔ The Siri Remote (3rd generation) will work with the Apple TV 4K (1st generation), when running tvOS 15.4 or later.
