Installing applecare on a gift Macbook Air

I have purchased a Macbook Air for my niece along with Applecare from Amazon. How can she install Applecare if she does not have access to my Amazon account?

Thi is essentially what you need to know: Transfer your AppleCare plan - Apple Support

AppleCare is bought for the device, not the owner. I guess it depends on Amazon and any special circumstance they have, but it shouldn't matter who bought the insurance as long as you can prove you have coverage based on the device's serial number.

Whatever communications you get should be set aside in a safe location so whoever has the Mac has access to the proof of coverage email.

It may be possible to transfer owners, but if your neighbor takes the device in along with proof of coverage, I don't think it matters who delivers the Mac for repair. The Apple Store will never know or care who paid the insurance premium.

Since I'm not 100% sure about this, I suggest that you contact Apple Support directly and ask them so that she can get this AppleCare+ plan properly associated with her gift. To do so, simply select the "Support" link on the lower left-hand side of this forum's web page.

... and if you don't mind, would you please post back what Apple Support tells you about this? TIA!
