Losing Tabs in Safari; FIX THE PROBLEM

Yes I keep losing tabs (on my ipad pro) but my concern is this community. I touch a tab, the window splits and my tabs are inevitably lost, on a regularly basis. I can plainly see this has been going on throughout the apple universe for years and nothing has been done to correct a basic glitch in the Safari app. The responses from community experts are mostly useless, even those provided by "level 10" experts, but I keep looking at them. Rather than encouraging Safari to fix the glaring error I see ridiculous and accusatory rhetoric questioning the victims of the malfunction. I really don't want to see open ended rhetorical questions from experts which do not address the problem, particularly when there is obviously nothing being done to fix the problem in Safari.

Key to accessing and controlling (or avoiding) multi-tasking is the small “three-dot” multitasking button that is found at the top-centre edge of the visible App windows.

When using Safari, this multitasking button is very close to the URL/Address bar; combined with a likely “conditioned habit” of tapping the centre of the Safari Address Bar, this is a common trigger of unexpected split or slide-over windows - or closed tabs.

Be aware that text shown in the URL/Address field is centre-justified; you can tap anywhere in this field to edit the website address. If you follow the usual usage pattern, you likely have an unconscious “conditioned habit” of tapping the centre of the field. Instead of tapping the centre of the URL/Address bar, try to consciously tap either side of centre; in so doing, you can completely avoid accidental activation of the “three dot” multitasking button.

Over a short period of time, you will subconsciously develop a new conditioned habit when using Safari - and will hopefully avoid the common cause of accidental triggering of multitasking views.
