The phone worked fine when I picked it up from the repair shop. Now the screen turns black and the phone shuts down if I unplug it. When I plug it
back in, the Apple comes in the screen and a minute later my phone will work, as long as it is plugged in.

Take the phone back to the shop. Are you sure that a genuine Apple battery was installed?

Apparently you had the iPhone battery serviced. Was it done at an Apple Store or Authorized Apple Service Center?
