The solution is to erase the TC hard disk and start a new set of backups.
Erase an AirPort Time Capsule in AirPort Utility on Mac - Apple Support
The "quick erase" is more than adequate because you will elect to encrypt backups when asked.
Be advised even the newest Apple AirPort Time Capsules are now five years old, and are thus beginning to enter the epoch of age-related failure for any spinning hard disk drive. You can erase the TC and continue to use it for a long time, perhaps for years. They can be replaced, with difficulty.
Consider getting an additional USB hard disk drive and connecting it to the TC's USB port. You can connect more than one external HDD using a powered hub. That way, you will have more than just one backup — never a good idea. External USB powered hard disk drives are not expensive.
If you choose to do that, be advised that you will need to connect that drive to a Mac first and format it using Mac OS Extended (Journaled) because the TC will not recognize APFS formatted volumes.
