High Sierra- DVD will burn and play but Will NOT play Commercial DVD

Internal Slot Drive on iMac

CDs work, and there is no Region Message. I've done a reset etc. I have the OPTIARC DVD RW AD-5680H and it shows in System info.

As said above- iDVD will burn and play but I have tried multiple other DVDs and it tries to read and then auto ejects. I have also Cleaned with a brush DVD disk.

I seem to have the latest V3 Super Drive update.

Thanks for any ideas!

So, I'm starting to think (after researching) that this DVD drive has been region Locked. I know that there is a way to "uninstall" the DVD player and then use VLC. Anyone want to give me some hints on how to do this?

I wanted to add that I can also play older DVDs that have been burned on a Mac.
