PDF edits not saving in Files app

My iPad will not consistently let me save my pdf edits to Files. The edits disappear, even when I send the file to someone else. I end up making the same changes multiple times and hope that it eventually saves. The changes that reverse include adding pages, deleting pages, reordering pages, and pencil annotations.

IPad doesn’t save my pdf files after the changes and return to the original file Yesterday I was highlighting the book in pdf in the application Files and after the words Saving pdf it didn’t save and return back to the first page with a black page and didn’t save everything I changed. On the first page it’s OK and I have enough storage.

Numbers: Cannot export PDF to Files app on iPad Numbers - Cannot export a PDF to the Files app ? The option is not visible in the pop-up anymore. Other options like Airdrop, Dropbox, Messages etc. are available as export location. I cannot scroll down to see more option in this pop-up. This happens on the latest iPad iOS 26.1… i tried the same on my iPad Pro with iOS 17.7.10 and there I can save to files without any problem.

I have a solution - simply delete the whole field and then reenter your info again, that way you can save your pdf edits.
