I have run into a default setting in FCP X that I cannot seem to change, and that is the default Outline color for fonts. It is set to red, but I would rarely want to outline a font in red other than something very special, perhaps a Christmas video.
How can that default outline color be set to black?

@Tom — Title Presets are possible now?!? (I'm still on 10.4.10).
@RPM46 — I can make you a Basic Title that defaults to Black Outline.
If you have Motion, you can Open a Copy in Motion for the Basic Title, go into Text > Appearance, turn on Outline, reset the color to Black, turn Outline back off and Save it. In Final Cut, if you need the outline, your can turn it on for the title and it will be black.
If you want me to make it for you, what parameters would you like published for direct access in the Title inspector? What name would you like to give it.

You can’t change the application default. Create a title the way you are most likely to use it with a black outline and save it as a preset.

I forgot about the option to save Text Styles, and that is the perfect solution to this! I have made and saved a 2D text style called "Basic Fade" and that will solve this annoying problem. I wonder why Apple chose to make the default outline color red? No one would ever use a red outline on a regular basis. Odd.

You're quite right fox. It's not exactly a preset. I meant the Save Format and Appearance Attributes function.
Yeah - okay - Styles are a good idea. They can be applied to text in all Titles. (I kind of got out of the habit of using them...LOL).
