my wired keyboard use to work whenever plugged in but now it wont work at all.all ports work with other inputs and wired keyboard works with other computers but not with my mac book air and theres no settings for it or anything online.
Plug it directly into the computer and restart the computer and then test. Make sure the keyboard is plugged into the computer and NOT a hub!!!!!!!!!

If you’ve gone through the restart, booting into safe mode, and the SMC and NVRAM reset, removed all USB hubs and cables and other external devices and directly plugged in just the keyboard, that probably means the Mac USB port has failed.
Okay then…. selahtm ( or meleeflies) do you have an Intel MacBook Air or an m1/m2 /apple silicon one?
if it’s the first one, try a reset smc/pmu… followed by 3-4 pram zaps… on startup… for this , any wired usb keyboard will do… so buy/borrow a known good “cheapie “ keyboard… and use that… oh!!! i got a fresh new keyboard and a fresh new adapter and it was the same results. both keyboards work on every laptop and computer but my mac. it’s strange because it’s been working for months until this week.

If all fails, consider the KB is defective. They too cheap to stress over; buy new one.
