Hello,
An iPhone 6 (or 6 Plus) will only update as far as iOS 12.5.7 (not 12.5.6 as stated in an earlier post). To ensure you have at least that, you can try updating your device. When updating, your device will update to the highest version currently available that it will support, or it will just say it is up to date and won't offer to install anything. If you want to run a higher system version than your current device will support, you need to buy a newer device.

You can also use Mac and PC computers to update system software. That is outlined in this article --> https://support.apple.com/guide/iphone/update-ios-iph3e504502/ios

No, iPhone 6 can only be updated to iOS 12.5.6. It lacks components needed to run newer software. The developers must not have updated those apps to go with the newer iOS. You can contact App developers - see this link...

No. It might get 12.5.8 or such, but won’t ever get an iOS version past 12.

Some app developers aren’t interested in the added costs and added effort involved with supporting their apps on older iOS versions, usually as they’re adopting newer features and capabilities that are not available that far back. iPhone 6 hardware is also slow and lacking available memory, too.
Please excuse my mistake. It should be iOS 12.5.7...
