If the link in blue above your name does not help you will need to make an appointment at the nearest Apple Store for a repair...
Apple Store - Find a Store - Apple
Since electronics and water do not mix well, you will probably have future problems with that phone. A visit to the Apple Store may help you in that respect also.

Oh man, that's a bummer! Water and tech usually don't mix well. First off, don't panic. You've got a couple of options to try and sort this out.
1. Dry it Out: Make sure your iPhone is as dry as possible. Turn it off, wipe it down with a cloth, and let it sit in a bag of rice for a day or so. The rice can help pull out any remaining moisture.
2. Check for Software Updates: Sometimes, these issues can be sorted out with a software update. Since you're on iOS 16, make sure it's the latest version by going to Settings > General > Software Update.
3. Reset Face ID: Head over to Settings > Face ID & Passcode and reset your Face ID. Try setting it up again to see if it works.
4. Hard Reset: As a last resort, you can try a hard reset. Just know that it'll restore your phone to factory settings, so make sure you back everything up first!
5. Genius Bar: If nothing works, it's probably time for a trip to the Apple Store. Since water damage isn't typically covered by warranty, you might be looking at a repair cost.
While you're dealing with this tech issue, you can always use your passcode to unlock the phone, but I get how convenient Face ID is.
Hope you get it sorted soon! 📱🤞

WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!!!!! NEVER put an iPhone or any other device in rice. This is unfortunately a very widespread myth; but the actual facts are putting it in rice will most likely ruin the phone permanently
2. Check for Software Updates: Sometimes, these issues can be sorted out with a software update. Since you're on iOS 16, make sure it's the latest version by going to Settings > General > Software Update.
WRONG. Software updates are not a cure for water damage.
Wrong again, an hard reset just restarts the phone.
5. Genius Bar: If nothing works, it's probably time for a trip to the Apple Store. Since water damage isn't typically covered by warranty, you might be looking at a repair cost.
CORRECT
