Changing Apple ID Notification Email address

I ran into this same problem. The solution was to use a browser other than Safari. I tried using Firefox to change the notification email and was able to do it without having to leave the browser!

It has something to do with how, when you log in via Safari, it doesn’t ask for your Apple ID password and instead tries to use Touch/Face ID or your computer password.

When you use another browser, you have to put your actual password in, so that seems to be the difference. I haven’t tested this, but I suspect you could still use Safari if you cancel the pop-up that asks for Touch/Face ID or your computer password and instead log in “traditionally.”

Thank you very much for this hint!. It worked. I was beginning to despair. I was stuck in this loop too. I used Microsoft Edge. It's unbelievable that it can't be done from the Apple browser.

We see you need help changing your Notification Email address for your Apple ID. It appears you are directed to continue on another device, but don't see where to change it there.

One thing to try first, can you remove your Notification Email address altogether?

If so, try that, then try adding the one you want to have in place. If not, reply back here to let us know.
