I get a random sound, like a piano note, on my iMac several times per day. It's annoying. I don't know its source. I have turned off sound on all apps, Mail and Notifications but the sound continues to occur. Any suggestions, please?

If you are hearing a random sound on your Mac throughout the day, could it be an alert sound? Check System Preferences > Sounds > Sound Effects > Alert sounds. If you play the current sound, is it the same sound you are hearing? If so, change the sound and see if the sound you keep hearing also changes to see if this is the cause.
