iPhone Update

What is the most recent iPhone update version? I'm unable to check for updates so I don't have the option listed to delete the file & redownload it. I've never seen that as an option. Also, I've never seen the Rapid Security Response. Are these features to which I should have access? I certainly haven’t removed them. I have iPhone 12.

I’ve attempted:

~Restarting my device

~Plugging into a power source

~Turning on Wi-Fi

I’ve never had a problem before with updates. There is one other possibility which is that I have security issues so I changed my passcode while offline. It now shows a warning in settings stating that in order to access backed up iCloud data, I need to reenter the code. However, I don’t use iCloud at all.

I figure if my security issues are as bad as I believe they are, there’s a keylogger or the ability to view my activities ‘live’ anyway. I believe with each device I become relegated to a user beneath an administrator. I believe there are several things occurring with one being a denial of service attack.

My device uses well over a GB in less than an hour of me literally doing nothing but watching the data being used. The phone stays extremely hot and the battery drains rapidly but the worst is the massive amount of data that’s constantly being used by processes that I can’t see. So that’s an issue since although I have unlimited data, the cap affects my speeds most of each month & also it seems that aside from constant monitoring, there is sabotage in the form of flooding my phone with information packets to where I can hardly do anything. Like pages time out & never load, anything I try to watch, listen to or do gets stuck or literally just closes making it often Impossible to complete any tasks at all - often including dialing out & connecting or having phone conversations that aren’t interrupted/disconnected.

This has been going on for over a decade & I’ve been unable to get any help/relief due to the stealth… & bc I’m just an average citizen. This has continued through now probably 100’s of devices, every possible carrier, Androids & finally Apple. I had hoped that Apple’s security would cause a change, but it hasn’t. In fact, things like the inability to completely hide password entry, a non-removable battery, the inability to shut off both external/internal microphones & many other small issues seem to take away from basic protections. I’ve spent long periods of time with no electronics.

Nonetheless, I hope one day the right person will take an interest, investigate & possibly put a stop to this. The interference of someone’s ability to contact emergency personnel is highly illegal (& dangerous) as well as a crime prosecuted by the FCC. Yet, this type of crime is stealthy & would require someone more knowledgeable than I to possibly find out from where this originates as well as to be able to list all of the things occurring simultaneously that are illegal or to document in a manner where the information can be presented so that it CAN be pursued/investigated. That’s all a different story. Just accessing this page has now utilized 300MB. That’s with the fewest possible apps even turned on, no background refreshing or checking for updates… Ridiculous.

Regarding the update, please advise. Thank you.

Regards,

T

Ok do you know how I can get updates? Also this part:

  • iPhone or iPad: Go to Settings > General > Software Update > Automatic Updates, then make sure that "Security Responses & System Files" is turned on.

I’ve never seen that & don’t have it as stated so what should I do to also get that?
