DVD will not eject from iMac G5

Found old iMAC G5 and tried to get it running. Eventually realized the hard drive had serious structural issues and booted from the Leopard DVD which was in the optical drive. Erased disk, then installed Leopard, all is fine now. EXCEPT I cannot get that DVD out. It shows up on the desktop. When I control-click on it and select the eject option, it disappears from the desktop but does not physically eject from the machine. I looked for a spot to stick a paper clip in to do the eject but there isn't one. What can I do?
