Okay - Where do I specify the drop shadow for text boxes?

Titles, etc.

Is it possible to add text drop shadow in titles or captions in iMovie? I've added several minutes of captions to my movie and realize there are sections where the text is hard to read. Is there a way to add text elements like drop shadow or something else to set it out from the background image? I may need to start over entirely and create the captions in one of the background titles, but I would prefer to simply add background "fill" or tweak to the text only (not the text over a solid bottom background strip). I don't see a way to do so, but I've only just started with this iMovie (10.4) and I might be missing something. Thanks in advance for any tips.

Marking clips that have been used while building an iMovie project According to iMovie help, after a clip is selected and placed in the timeline, the clip should have an orange stripe across the bottom in the gallery. I remember this happening years ago when I first used iMovie, but I have not seen the orange stripe while creating my last several projects. I was with a friend today helping her to learn iMovie, and she did not get the orange stripe on her computer either. How can I get this feature back? It is helpful.

iMovie Save Current Frame is Darker I wanted to post this change that happened to iMovie. I've seen another post as well of this complaint, where when you save a current frame of an iMovie video, to use as a still, it indeed becomes darker than what appears in the original video. It remained the same between a still and the video a couple updates ago, as I use this tool often for my work. This is annoying that this change has happened, as I take still frames from a video all the time and export it to add layovers to it in Keynote, and then reinsert it into the video. It worked seamlessly before when the still frame remained the same. Now it is darker and I find this extremely annoying.... Thanks

Most of the titles in iMovie have a little bit of a drop shadow. I know of no way of adjusting it to make it stronger.

However, if you want something stronger, like this . . .

. . . you could use the Keynote app that is on your Mac.

I believe that Keynote can output Instant Alpha for images, but not sure for videos.

I've never tried transparent colors, but I see that there is an opacity slider in the Style box.

As you've probably found, Keynote has a good Help menu.

I keep on remembering that Keynote can output movies.

Can Keynote output Alpha channels - transparent colors?

I will test it out some.
