I am finding it difficult in apple pages to maintain the same formula format in the auto generated table of contents as in the body of the documents.

 I am finding it difficult in apple pages to maintain the same formula format in the auto generated table of contents as in the body of the manuscript. For the reference, I am attaching one exported image file of a document created in apple page in which details are mentioned to understand my problem. kindly help me to sort it out. I am not finding any discussion over it in the apple community page or online content to help in it.

You will need to send a bug or feature report to the Pages product team from the application menu. I changed the font to Hoefler Text creating a new paragraph style, and the ToC still suppressed the subscript notation of the formula. I also entered the formula as an inline equation using the equation editor, applied the custom paragraph style, and the ToC dropped the formula entirely.


You will likely need to use the chemical name, not the formula for the ToC entry.
