Non-Cloud Hardwire sync of MacBookPro and iPhone 12 no longer works

Since I purchased my MacBook Pro 4 years ago, I could sync my calendar and contacts between it and an iPhone 12 using a hardwire, not the cloud. In November 2022 that failed and Apple technical advisors have not been able to help. There must be many Apple users experiencing his same. OTHER THAN USING THE CLOUD, what is the solution?

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 13.1

Hey Hardwirefailure,

Thanks for reaching out and posting in Apple Support Communities. We'll be happy to try and help.

When you say hardwired, in the past you've just connected your iPhone to your MacBook Pro and synced using Finder. Is that correct?

Are the steps you have been following in the past found here?

If you are still having trouble syncing, let us know what happens when you try. Do you get an error message or at what step does the sync stop?

Take care!
