Is there any way to opt out of iPhone 14 combining texts from any number saved under the same contact into a single text thread? This not only causes super inconvenient miscommunications but actually opens iPhone users up to unnecessary liability exposure, as well as life/safety concerns.

You lose all iMessage capability.
The other way would be to revise your contacts to not combine attributes you wish to be distinguished for any specific person.
Try Settings > Messages > iMessage = "off".
I believe that will rectify future but not past messages.
That’s what I thought. Basically, I have to do a ton of work to separate contacts, plus deal with the extreme inconveniences of navigating that on both the front end and through the inefficiencies that it will create in daily use; or, I have to deal with the many inconveniences and inefficiencies of not using iMessage. There HAS to be a better range of solutions!

You chose to save multiple numbers under the same contact. That decision resulted in the behavior you're seeing - and all its advantages and disadvantages.
