Turn off startup with lid opening M2 Macbook Air 2022

How can you turn off that when you open the lid of your Macbook Air M2 2022, it automatically turns on?

The suggestions in the terminal with the sumo autoboot code do not work work, even if you type it in different ways (Autoboot, auto-boot, Autoboot, autoboot etc).

Please advise, it’s annoying and it uses up unnecessary battery - and the battery life is already not even close to what it was advertized (even with ALL the battery-saving settings you can possibly enter)!

I know, right? Because it's so much more secure to press a button instead.

Its a simple request, please allow us to disable this enhanced feature we would prefer to live without it.

You are not addressing Apple on this website, so your request will go unheard.

Most laptop users use FileVault as a extra layer of Protection

If the Lid has been closed and depending on some specific setting - it would Require inputting the Password to gain control and access to the computer

Just saying

I have recently had this very same problem with Bristows in Aberdeen. First time flying with them having a MacBook Air M2 and without me realising it had an autoboot feature. Now having travelled with all other helicopter firms not just in Aberdeen but around the world, this is the first time it was brought to my attention that this wasn't allowed. Bristows were less than helpful and down right rude about the whole thing, which ended up with me having to leave my MacBook with them for the duration of my offshore stint.... needless to say I wasn't amused!! Apple need to add a software update that allows the disablement of this feature asap!!

Thats rubbish

A child can clarify the key difference in the likelihood of accidental power-up between a MacBook and a conventional laptop. When a MacBook is powered down, switched off, and its lid is closed, especially when stored in a secure case, it is far less likely to power on inadvertently. This is because MacBooks rely on internal mechanisms, such as opening the lid or pressing specific keyboard keys, to wake or power up, rather than an external power button.

In contrast, conventional laptops often have external power buttons that may be more susceptible to accidental pressing, particularly if they are in a bag or case that applies pressure to the device. This makes them more prone to unintentionally powering up compared to a MacBook in the same conditions.

Going on about laptops, when they cant keep their helicopters in the air! Joke of company!!!
