my quicktime player not playing few videos .i have tried a VLC player & more but it not working plz quide me

my quicktime player not playing few videos .i have tried a VLC player & more but it not working plz quide me

We'd like to help, but would need to know what kind of file the video is ... the video may need to be converted to a different format in order to play, if it is not incompatible or damaged. (VLC can play most video file formats)
Copies of "copyrighted" videos may not be able to be viewed at all.
You could check the file-name's extension: (the letters after the dot in the file-name):
For example: with file_name.m4v the .m4v is the file extension.
(QuickTime uses the .mov format amongst others, and can convert some file formats so they will play.)

or might require different software".
To view videos in .hevc format (also known as H.265) on Mac, requires macOS High Sierra or later.
