Hi There my ports on my Macbook Pro doesnt seem to work. Can you help

So i own a macbook Pro 13inch 2017 with two thunderbolt 3 ports. I use samsung extrenal drive on a regular basis but for some reason today the ports doesnt seem to work as they not appearing on my desktop.

Infact nothing i put into the two ports seem to work. Which make me believe its my ports that is faulty

MacBook M4 Pro Shows Thunderbolt/USB4 Instead of Thunderbolt 5 Hi Everyone, I recently purchased a MacBook M4 Pro, which, according to Apple's official specs, should have Thunderbolt 5 ports. However, when I check the system information, it only shows Thunderbolt/USB 4. Screenshot below. Has anyone else noticed this? Is this a software issue, or is there a way to verify if the ports support Thunderbolt 5 features? Thanks in advance!

You might try completely shutting down your Macbook Pro, unplug everything, including the external drive, let it sit for 30 seconds, restart, and once everything is running, plug in your external drive.
