Double clicking side button for Apple Pay not working

My side button works for everything else but double clicking to confirm payment or transfer to my bank account. I can double click it and my wallet will pop up but I can’t use my money because it needs to be verified by another double click and for some reason it won’t work. I have tried to use assistive touch but that won’t work either because I have to confirm to use assistive touch with a double tap on my side button. Which won’t work. WHY
