messenger problem holding down the camera button

In Messenger when I hold down the camera button to do a video, the focus changes from 1x to 0.5. I want it locked and stay on the 1x

Are you asking about Facebook MESSENGER or Apple's MESSAGES? They are not the same.

yes, it is Facebook Messenger. I go into settings but see nothing to change or to control. And there is nothing on YouTube either.
