Hello,

This can be done a few different ways, depending on what/where Point A and Point B are. If you want the distance "as the crow flies" (a straight line) from A to B, you will need to use a third-party map service as Apple Maps does not have a feature that will provide it.

If you want directions, which will have a distance and time for each possible rout, Apple Maps can achieve that. Additionally, you can plan future routs by adding a "leave by" or "arrive at" date and time.

Find routes in Maps on iPad - Apple Support

For Cities, Addresses, Landmarks, etc: Search for and select the ending location > Hit the directions button > Press on "My Location" in the stops list > Search and select the beginning location.

Find places in Maps on iPad - Apple Support

"Search for a location

Ask Siri. Say something like: “Show me the Golden Gate Bridge.” Learn how to ask Siri.

Without asking Siri, you can also tap the search field, then begin typing the location.

You can search for a location in different ways. For example:

  • Intersection (“8th and Market”)
  • Area (“Austin”)
  • Landmark (“Guggenheim”)
  • Zip code (“73301”)
  • Business (“movies,” “restaurants San Francisco CA,” “Apple Inc New York”)

To see all results, swipe up. To see more information about a location, tap it. To get a driving, transit, or walking route, tap Directions in the info display for the location.

To get a route to a location, tap Directions. See Find routes in Maps on iPad."

Underlined words were changed by my in the quoted section above.

For Pins: Drop your ending pin then select the directions button > drop the pin for where you want to start > press "My Location" then search "dropped pin" and select the dipped pin result.

Mark and share locations in Maps on iPad - Apple Support

"Mark a spot

Touch and hold the map until a pin marker appears."

I hope this helps.
