Apple ID Access to email

Just realized that my Apple ID has its own email account. After 4 years box is prolly full. Thought I’d check it out. Don’t know my password put my phone number in to receive a code but it’s a phone number I no longer use. Trying to find a way to access that Apple ID mailbox. I’ve got recent charges to my account I don’t understand and I’m told that’s where I’ll find some answers. Any help would be appreciated. I’m a slow texter please if you decide to help pack your patience 🙏

If you are unable to access your Apple ID, you may need to begin the automated account recovery process. This is a way for you to securely regain access to your Apple ID.

"Account recovery is a process designed to get you back into your Apple ID account when you don’t have enough information to reset your password. For security reasons, it might take several days or longer before you can use your account again. We know this delay is inconvenient, but it's important so that we can keep your account and information safe.

Before you start the account recovery waiting period, try to reset your password.

Learn how to reset your Apple ID password on a trusted device or through the Apple Support app on a family member’s iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. You can also visit an Apple Store and ask to use a device on site.
