On @Icloud.com,on my Iphone 12, sent email not sending nor appearing in sent folder

I’ve recently changed to iCloud mail from mail@internode.net.au. On my iPad, mail is working fine, sending and receiving as it should. But on my iPhone 12.( IOS 16.6 ) when I send an email it goes woosh but doesnt send nor appear in the sent box. I have checked the details on both accounts and they seem to be the same. I have turned the iPhone on and off and toggled other buttons on and off but no difference. Can anyone advise me, please.

Remove your email account and set it up again

Make sure that all of your emails are there or make sure that your email is saved somewhere other than your device. On your device, go to Settings > Mail, then tap Accounts. Tap the email account that you want to remove. Tap Delete Account.

I couldn’t delete the email account because it said it was an iCloud account.
