command key for keyboard shortcuts no longer works

I'm using a Logitech K380 Mac-compatible bluetooth keyboard. As of today, the command key couplets (cmd) + action key (X = delete, C = copy, V = paste, W = close file, etc.) no longer work. They've worked fine on this keyboard for several years, until today. I have found no possible solutions to this on either the Logitech site, nor anywhere on Apple or Apple Community. So, for now, all I have are menu options for basic commands, deleting files, opening files, and other simple tasks.

Had same problem.

The following worked for me from the Logitech manual. Hold down the "fn + I" keys for 3 seconds. "I" as in the letter not the number

Ok! So I was right.

When you press the Command key, it is working like Option instead.

The interface looks different, and they are called "Preferences" instead of "Settings", as you say (in fact this change of wording is very recent, it was introduced only in Ventura, this past year). Also, they are organized differently.

The principle, however, is the same.

So go to System Preferences->Keyboard->Keyboard and then click on "Modifier Keys..." at the bottom right (image downloaded from the internet and I don't have easy access to a mac running an older OS):

You will see something similar to the image in my previous post. Make sure that Command key is set to work as Command and not Option; also check that each of the other modifier keys is set to work as itself.

Does any keyboard shortcut work at all - eg can you see at least the File menu highlight when you do Command-N, or the Edit menu when you do Command-C?

Is the keyboard managed using a specific software from Logitech, or does it allow some control from System Settings->Keyboard?

What do you see in System Settings->Keyboard->Keyboard Shortcuts->Modifier Keys?

Select the keyboard from the popup (it says Apple internal keyboard/trackpad in the image below) and

tell us or show us what you see there.

Thank you, Luis. Cmd-x yields no deletion, so nothing. Typing X alone yields an X (in Word, Text, Excel, etc.); no beep. Only combination of "cmd" key with action key for deletion, copying (text or entire files: cmd D), cutting, pasting does not seem to work. I wouldn't know how or which, if any, driver is a factor in this symptom -- the keyboard, including these basic shortcut options, have been working fine for years, until they suddenly quit.

No, none of the keyboard shortcuts (cmd + [action key: c, x, v, w, o, etc.] work. Cmd-N yields ~ Cmd-C yields ç; the file menu tab in Finder does not highlight nor open the selected file's content (Cmd-O used to perform this operation, now I use the tab Finder>File>Open).

To the best of my memory, I didn't need any software to establish use of this keyboard; at this time, I have no software that appears operational for the keyboard in my systems files.

Under the Apple menu bar, Systems Preferences (not "Settings" on OS 10.13.6)>Keyboard>Shortcuts yields a menu to the left of 10 choices, including another for keyboard> a box and 10 function keys (F1-F8, cmd symbol', shift-cmd' symbol. I've tried restoring defaults, but none of these represent common cmd+action combination of keys used for cut, copy, paste, open, close, delete, etc. Returning to the keyboard tab, that screen shows a list of modifier keys button that yields a dropdown menu of "caps lock key, control key, option key, command key" (no function key entry as your screen shot above shows, but otherwise similar. Here I again tried restoring defaults, as was already in use, also as shown above: each of those keys is already tabbed for the common symbols used to initiate an action on the keyboard, as shown. I'd conclude from this, perhaps erroneously, that something has corrupted or altered the standard actions initiated through the use of the command key. As noted earlier, the top bar menu items for the common short-cut options remain operable.

I have a Power Mac from about 2012, and can no longer update Mac OS. This OS 10.13.6 is the last I was able to load with existing hardware.
