I also encountered the Green Screen issue in my 14 pro max after updating to IOS 17.0.3. My phone is 8 months old so it’s covered by warranty. I went to service center and it was Fixed and Screen was replaced for FREE. Im not sure about whats the real cause of the Green Screen issue but maybe because of heat?

I observed that the phone overheats right after the update, coz maybe of the processes that runs in the background.

Dont get panic!

Hiii All,

This is the common issue you may face with the Iphone 13/14 pro/max models.

I also own iphone 13pro Max and I faced the same green issue.

The screen automatically turned green.

My phone was out of warranty and I purchased it from US.

I visited nearest apple authorised store in India and submitted the phone.

They checked for physical damages as there were none they agreed to replace the display free of cost. (you should have a legal bill for the iPhone issued by an authorised seller)

Just remember do not open the phone in any local shop or do not try anything on your own. Immediately run to nearest Apple Authorised service center.

I am writing to express my serious dissatisfaction with an issue that arose with my

iPhone 14 Pro max immediately after the recent software update. My screen suddenly turned green, rendering the device unusable. Upon researching this problem on YouTube, I discovered numerous recent reports of similar issues from other users, suggesting a widespread problem linked to the update.took my phone to an authorized service center, only to be informed that the cost to replace the screer

would be Rs 42,000. This estimate is unacceptable, especially since the problem appears to be a direct result of Apple's update, not due to any fault of my own

1 urge you to address this situation promptly. I expect either a full repair at no cost or a replacement device, as the issue clearly stems from an Apple- related fault

I know many users of iPhone 14 series are facing green screen death after ios update, one point or other. Recently I have updated my iPhone 14 Pro Max to ios 17.6 and all of a sudden my screen started flickering and then went to green . I tried force restart, and it didn’t solve the problem. Plus there were no possible way to backup my data since it’s an unexpected problem. I have contacted apple support and they suggested me to go visit apple authorised service centre near me and run a diagnostic test. It’s found that “checked external VMI , passes. Hence as per Apple service guidelines iPhone Display need to be replaced under exchange price for further screening” and they price quoted was 41000 rupees which is 30% of device’s cost. And clearly apple’s customer care told me there was display hardware issues In manufacturing with iPhone 13 and 14 series, and ios update is just a cause for heat production and thus hardware issue gets triggered and led to all this problems. Since it’s clearly apple’s built quality issue, why they are asking customers to pay? At least apple owes its customers a sensible explanation for this. Other companies are admitting and replacing the defective part for free even after warranty period ends. And my main concern is what if the issue repeats even after paid replacement of display ? Spend another 41000 rupees again ? It means apple is considering its customers as a slaughter animal. Non-ending money source? I purchased apples ecosystem all at once since I believed it have some values. But, i am not making that mistake again in my life, not even with my fiends and family. I will never ever believe in apple again. a cat that falls into hot water once won’t sit on a hot stove again. Moreover, it won’t sit on a cold stove either.

Whether it is Black Screen Death, White Screen Death, Green Screen, or Yellow Screen Death the process of reviving it remains more or less the same...

Experiencing random black/white/yellow screens and loading issues on your iPhone can be frustrating, but there are several troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the problem. Here are some common solutions you can attempt:

  1. Follow the Apple article to resolve the issue --> If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won't turn on or is frozen ...
  2. If not resolved; please follow the steps in the following link for support with this issue: If your iOS device restarts or displays the Apple logo or a spinning gear unexpectedly
  3. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary software glitches. Turn off your iPhone, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on.
    1. Restart the device. That's it.
    2. Still not solved --> Force restart iPhone - Apple Support
  4. Make sure you have the latest updates installed. Update using iTunes/Finder —> Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support (IN)
  5. You still see a black screen after charging, force restarting, following the steps in this article.
    1. You see a black screen, but you can hear alerts, sounds, and vibrations.
    2. The screen remains black, but the device chirps when you unmute it and connect it to power.
    3. Your screen is on, but it doesn't respond when you tap, slide, or try other gestures.
    4. You can't force your device to restart because a button is broken or stuck.
    5. Your device is stuck on the Apple logo, displays a solid color, or isn't recognized in iTunes.
    6. Contact Apple Support to set up service if you have any of the above issues:
  6. Please follow the steps in the following Apple Video for support with this issue:

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it is recommended to reach out to Apple Support or visit an authorized service center for further assistance. They can provide specific guidance based on your device model and iOS version.

Hi Eliyapra, please share your feedback directly at this link Product Feedback - Apple as well. Also, attach copy of your jobsheet (that was given by Apple service center) attach it to your Apple case ID. My case is under review and I am hoping for the best. According to the Senior support person, raising feedback at the above link I shared will add more emphasis to the issue we are facing.

I too faced same green screen issue on 28 th July 2024 with my iphone 14 pro max.I was using it for last 1 year. One day all of sudden the screen turned green.service centre diagnosed it and told me to talk to apple customer service to help me out with this. after contacting customer care , Nachiket was handling this case.he even assured me to give me an exception and will sort this issue.he asked for 3 days to analyse the report from service centre and other procedures.he even shared his personal voice msg link to contact him. After 3 days I tried to contact him, no response I got from his end.again i dialed customer care number ,every time someone random person was receiving and telling me to authorise him to takeover my case and asked for future 24-48 hrs.i already spent 4 days so I waited one more day but that Nachiket didn't call me back.On 7th August i called customer care to establish contact with Nachiket but they refused and my case id transferred to neeraj.he again asked for 24 hrs and called me back on 8th August after I sent him several voice msgs through that link. Finally he told me that their seniors are not giving any exception and It will be a paid service. For internal failure caused due to update how it will be my fault. After purchasing such a high end phone who will expect such issue without our mistake.though service centre confirmed no physical damage, no dent, no water then apple's engineers thinks it's internal failure and not to be repaired free. They allowing free of cost replacement for 13 pro ,13pro max then why not with 14 pro series. So many people are complaining about this 14 pro series but apple is not uttering a single word. Rather than solving this issue, they are playing with emotions of customer..it's a scam.. 41 k is the cost of replacing screen. Why should I pay for if it's not my fault. Really disappointed. This is my last buy from Apple. I will encourage people to go for other options. Apple has loosed it's credibility it was known for.

Well, I bought a brand new iPhone 14 pro max in March exactly after 8 months on the 11th of November I got the typical green screen of death (IOS 17.0.3) which made my display completely un useable and green, only option I had was Siri, I used my voice to restart and turn off my device couple of times but nothing worked at last I had to go to an authorized apple service provider since we do not have any official apple stores in Sri-Lanka. They even refused to do a free replace now I options are to trade it in and pay extra for a 15 or replace the display by paying straight out of the pocket.

Disappointed

20 days ago I phone 14 pro max warranty expired and now i got same problem green screen and Apple service provider refused to provide a free replacement. Display price 40k and fixation charge 3000 which is costly

and main thing is phone has not single crak no water damage why should we pay if there was not our fault. Very disappointed. Apple should come up with a solution since we pay a considerable amount for a mobile device. I use my mobile carefully & now I see so many people are facing the same issue. Apple should find a solution for their customers.

Thank you for raising this. I and my another family member is also facing the exact same issue after iOS 17 upgrade. The Apple service centre diagnosed it as a hardware issue and charging me approx 40K INR to get it fixed. This is really not fare. I have spoken to the Senior support and they suggested if there are multiple such reports from the users then they will put our request forward for replacement. I am not sure how far this is true but I will surely go ahead and share this thread as a reference.

Same happened to me just 2 months after the warranty went out. Yellow screen of death without water damage, always have screen protector and case since day one. No scratches, bleed or crack. Try every effort mentioned to resolve but no luck. Went to Apple Store and they asked me to pay to replace screen at my own cost. It was not cheap at all! Very disappointed!
