Ensure that you have enabled AutoFill for Safari in iPad settings:

Settings > Safari > AutoFill >

  • Use Contact Info - set to ON
  • My Info - select your own Contact Card

The iPad User Guide provides additional information about setting-up AutoFill for your iPad:

As you have an iPhone - and assuming that both iPad and iPhone are signed-in to iCloud with the same AppleID - to send and receive SMS/MMS messages (green bubbles) from your iPad (including receive SMS codes for AutoFill by your iPad) you must explicitly enable Text Message Forwarding for your iPad on your iPhone...

On your iPhone:

Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding - set to ON - and explicitly enable your iPad from the list of devices.

Also ensure that Messages in iCloud is enabled on both your iPhone and iPad:

Settings > [Your Name / AppleID] > Messages - set to ON

Thanks for your reply.

I am getting texts etc on both iPhone and iPad, and the settings are as above and always have been.

The issue I have is that for example when I buy something from a website and want to put in my name and address etc, this is done automatically on my iphone but i have to do it manually on my ipad.

the same is the case when i receive a text code.
