Transfer progress bar has disappeared

I'm transferring photos from my iPhone to a folder in Finder via the Photos app on my iMac. There are thousands of photos and videos so it is taking a long time, and I would like to be able to see the transfer progress. In Finder, I see that there is the option for Window > Show Progress Window - but this option is greyed out and I cannot click it. I cannot locate a similar option in Photos to see the progress from there. This is a 2023 iMac running Ventura 13.4.

I would appreciate any advice about this please :)
