Apple ID cannot be verified

I am trying to reset my old iPad mini to factory settings. I forgot Apple ID password. When I try to reset it it tells be that the Apple ID is not valid. What do I do. I’m stuck.

iPad apple ID is wrong…I can’t reactivate! I have an iPad that for some reason is trying to reactivate with an Id that is not correct. Somehow, information was entered incorrectly. So, every time I tried to restore my IPad I can’t! It will keep asking for an Id that will not match the id intended of known ID and password. “Activation Required” but, the number of Apple ID spaces don’t match up with the spaces needed to restore. This Apple ID is not valid or not supported. Hello, I am trying to reset the password on one of my iPads, and I'm getting this message "This Apple ID is not valid or not supported." Help

logged in to ipad with defunked apple id I have an ipad that is logged into a old apple id. The email address is no longer active so can't do a reset of the password. Even if I could when requesting a password reset apple say the account isn't valid;- This Apple ID is either not valid or not supported. so I'm pretty much stuck with an ipad I can't reset and give to my mother in hospital. Has anyone any thoughts what to do TIA Kath
