MacBook Pro Protection

I just got my MacBook Pro 14' M2 and I want to know what's the best way to protect it from physical damage? I thought about getting a Incase hardshell case but I've heard bad things about hardshell cases in general.

I personally do not like having any cases on laptops, but some people in our organization uses them. When I have to remove these covers to repair the laptops, I find dirt & crumbs behind the case, many times grinding this dirt into the aluminum. It is really disgusting. Sometimes I can clean it off with some cleaners, but other times marks & debris remain which I cannot clean or remove.

Most of these plastic cases are cracked when I receive them. Sometimes I have almost dropped the laptop because the laptop actually slips from the plastic case.

Plus if the laptop needs repaired, the case will need to be removed. Removing the plastic case from the Display is very tricky...I hate doing it since I feel like I'm going to crack the glass or the LCD Panel since the displays of current laptops are so thin.

You would be better off placing the laptop into a nice travel case laptop bag, just don't put anything else into the bad or you risk damaging the laptop.

Just my two cents for what is worth.

Also bear in mind that if there is ever a need to have Apple or an AASP service that Mac, they will require that you remove any covers or similar alterations before they will even agree to look at it. Why? Because removing them often results in damage.

This 2011 MBA has been in constant daily use since the day bought it:

Go ahead and zoom in on the picture if you want.

It gets transported nearly every single day in a generic soft case. Other than that I don't exercise any particular care with it.

Based on Personal Experience:

Use a Softcover Case:

It is not a good idea to use a hardcovered case, as it caused my former Mac to overheat consistently, eventually leading to failure.

I Now Use a Sleeve:

So, what I use is a sleeve, and then I take it out of it, when I need to use my Mac. Once done using my Mac, I let it cool for a bit, and then close the screen, placing it back in the sleeve.  What I use: MOSISO Laptop Sleeve - Amazon
