Can't get through IVR prompts while on a call

iPhone 14 ios 16.6 T mobile carrier

Wife's iPhone 13 works fine same carrier

Calls to several different companies; they won't recognize my responses/inputs eg: enter my telephone # or last 4 digits of account # etc.
