If I have 2TB of Icloud storage does it matter what Iphone internal storage I choose?

I currently have an iphone XS Max and it's pretty much at the end of its life. I'm probably going to go for the iphone 11 or 12 max.

When it comes to internal storage in the hardware does it really matter which one I choose if I already pay $10 monthly for 2TB of icloud storage?

If I can save money on buying a phone with less storage let's say 64 GB it wouldn't matter if I already have 2TB right?

Thanks in advance!

How much internal storage you have on the phone does still matter very much.

iCloud storage does not replace internal storage. Many things still require the same amount of local storage even though they are synced with iCloud.

The Optimize Storage option in iCloud Photos can reduce the amount of local storage needed and iCloud Drive files can also reduce the local storage needed. For most everything else (apps, Notes, etc) having iCloud storage doesn't reduce the need for local storage. A very common question on this forum goes something like "My iPhone storage is full but I have plenty of iCloud storage."
