Is there a way to only sync SOME Desktop files to iCloud?

I have my work folder on my Desktop together with a bunch of other things I don't want available on all my devices. Just want the work folder synced to iCloud.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 13.5

Move items to your Mac and remove them from iCloud Drive

  • On your Mac, drag items from iCloud drive to another folder in the Finder sidebar or on the desktop, such as Downloads, Movies, Music and Pictures.
  • The items are copied to your Mac and removed from iCloud Drive on all your devices set up for iCloud. If you change your mind, you can drag items back to iCloud Drive.

Note : the desired files will move to other location , keeping rest of files in iCloud , the other way is is check mark optimise feature in Mac Optimise storage space on your Mac - Apple Support
