Mail Notifications not displaying on watch

Hi

I have an apple watch "Ultra" with cell phone service enabled.

I have an Iphone 13 pro Max

I am trying to figure out how to get the watch to display email notifications from the apple mail app. No matter what I do or try I cannot get it to work. If I use the MSFT outlook app it works fine

BTW the two accounts I am most interested in is a gmail account and one old fashioned POP account all configured in the apple mail app

this is how my phone and watch are configured...

any suggestions would be welcome!!!

thanks

Hi henryga,

If you haven't done so yet, restart your Apple Watch and paired iPhone. Although simple, this step can help correct some unexpected issues. It's also a good idea to make sure your devices are running the latest software versions, since this can help with overall performance. If an update is available for your iPhone, be sure to create a backup before installing it: Update your iPhone or iPad

1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
4. If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install.
5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do.

There is some additional information at the bottom of this article on why you may not see notifications on your Apple Watch: Notifications on your Apple Watch

Regards.

thank you for your response but I am very sorry to say it did not help.

The 13 ProMax is running 16.6.1 and the watch is running 9.6.2 (20U90) which in both cases I believe the most current.

Even though both devices were rebooted after the last update, I have rebooted them today and I am still not getting notification from email.

thank you

So after a support call with Apple I was able to get mail to flow and get the watch work. The problem ended up being a user expectation error. I thought the watch would notify me no matter what state the phone was in. That is not the case, the phone has to be in a locked state, for notifications to appear....

I guess I missed that little detail! :(

thanks
