autofill enlarging cells

I created a new spread sheet in Numbers on iPad by copying rows from a previous one. In the new spread sheet, auto filling down a column causes the cells being filled (and the whole row) to enlarge in height until the auto fill is finished, then it snaps back to the original row height. It is annoying. It didn’t do this in the original spread sheet. I am wondering if there is some formatting selection that might be doing this. Has anyone else noticed this? Thanks for any suggestions on fixing this.
