Hi JosephFL,
If you need permission to open an item on your Mac, we recommend that you try the steps here: If you need permission to open an item on Mac - Apple Support.
To perform the recommended troubleshooting steps via the link above, complete the steps in the section below.
1. On your Mac, select the item, then choose File > Get Info, or press Command-I.
2. Click the arrow
next to Sharing & Permissions to expand the section.
3. Click the pop-up menu next to your user name to see the permissions settings.
4. If you’re not logged in as an administrator, you may need to click the lock
to unlock it, then enter an administrator name and password (or use Touch ID or your Apple Watch).
5. Change the permissions to either Read & Write or “Read only.”
We recommend the steps above because they will show you what to do if you don’t have permission to open a file or folder on your Mac.
If you’re still experiencing the same issue, we suggest that you try the steps here: Change permissions for files, folders, or disks on Mac - Apple Support.
Please let us know the outcome after giving the above steps a try.
Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities.
Cheers!
