iPhone 14 camera keeps turning on when in my pocket

When it's in my pocket I initially feel heat into my leg. When I take out the phone the camera app is running. The only suggestion I have found, on searching the web, is to turn off tap to wake. I like tap to wake so I am reluctant to go down that path.

What I cannot understand is why when phone comes on in my pocket it defaults to the camera app?

The web has many entries re this [problem but when talking to apple support they did not know about it. Strange.
