iphone 12 pro new magsafe charger so hot phone turned off

Last night I put a new magsafe case on my iphone 12 pro this is new way to charge for me.

The phone was so hot after an hour I took the phone off the charger to check my emails and the phone would not turn on. the back was almost too hot to touch.

It was hot like when you leave in the sun during the summer and it shuts down.

I tried to plug in the reg USB-C to restart that way and no dice it was off and would not restart.

This morning cool and on like if never happened.
