I was asked to change my comcast password in late August and have not been able send mail out since then. it comes in fine.

You want the SMTP Password. It is the same as your incoming password.
Are you able to login to www.xfinity.com using the same username and password?
Tap the SMTP and post pic.
I got it fixed. the passwords for incoming and outgoing had been changed somehow....... I deleted the account and started over and got it working both directions.
