How to disable recovery key I forgot the recovery key I have my password I have my number and email but there is no option to change it always ask for recovery key

Lost password and recovery key Somehow my password changed so I tried to reset but when I put in Apple ID to reset and enter recovery phone number it asks for the 28 disgorge recovery key. Apple does not provide enough warning about this recovery key so a saved it in notes as logically assumed that was safe! But of coarse I can no longer get to notes to access the recovery key because I don’t know the password and the recovery number does not offer any other option. Is my email and recovery key lost forever if not how do I reset my Apple ID?
