I need to convert old songs like Patsy Cline, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin to MP3, but when I try, I get a message that those songs are protected and cannot be converted. How do I get some of those songs as Itune Plus songs so I can convert them and then download them to my PC? (So I can further download them to a MP3 player).

Another option, if you have a CD drive available, is to burn the tracks to audio CD, and then import as MP3:

At this point in time, you will need to purchase the non-copy protected version from the iTunes Store. A long time ago, Apple offered a conversion process (for a nominal fee), but that service is no longer available.
