I still think cars shouldn't cost more than $10,000. I know, it's completely illogical. But, the idea of paying more than $20,000 (apparently the least expensive car in the U.S. is $22,000) just pains me. And I really don't want anything larger than the Fit. What's annoying is that Honda still makes the Fit.
I think groceries for two shouldn't cost the $300+/week we're spending. There are so many things I often can't wrap my head around the cost. Our house is now worth over $800,000 and it's just 2100 sq ft. But it's a new house (built three years ago) and is on a prime riverfront lot. We bought two new Genesis GV70 Sport Prestige this year. They each cost nearly $60,000. They are more expensive than the first home we bought in 1980. But that's the way things are these days. And it will never get better.
I have an Audi with a lighting connector which plugs into my iPhone 11 which allows CarPlay to appear on the system display. If I upgrade to iPhone 15 is there a dongle that can transmit audio and video to the system display by converting to a USB-c type connector.
How are you liking the Genesises... Genisi? What's the plural if Genesis?
I picked up a '21 G70 that was just off lease a week and a half ago. Finally decided climbing in and out of the spider just wasn't in the cards for me any more. I had a blast with it, but 6 years of daily driving a roller-skate was enough. I'm really loving the G70. It doesn't hurt that someone else got to eat the depreciation on it either. Original sticker in 21 was almost $49K. Got it for 29K with only 22,000 miles on it. The only things I wish it had are heated steering wheel and Wireless Carplay. Ordered a Wireless Carplay adapter for it and a MagSafe charger to keep in the center console. We'll see how that works. Love CarPlay but hate having to stop and plug the phone in every time I get in.
Those did not work for my 2020 Kia Soul. I went to two different dealerships and they were able to connect using lightening cables. The C cable to that the iPhone 15 uses does NOT WORK.
Can anyone help?
Thanks
I just realized I'm going to need a new adapter for the car..... I connect through the AUX jack. Belkin, again!
I bought the cables I linked a few weeks ago.
Wow. Maybe a newer car will be in your not too distant future? I hope the Belkin piece will do what you need.
As long as it's safe, reliable and does what you need a car to do, that's great! I have to have tech in my car. Yes, I do!
I don't ordinarily have trouble spending money. I'm okay spending $1000 on a phone as I did this morning. It's just cars I'm weird about.
You know I don't have an issue with buying things. It's why at the ripe 'old age of 68, I'm still working full time. I have to fund my buying stuff habit!!
Did this work for you? My 2019 Buick Encore doesn’t seem to recognize that anything is plugged in for CarPlay
Thanks!
Just enquiring if you got to the bottom of this? I’ve just upgraded from iPhone 11 Pro to 15 pro and can’t get new phone to work with carplay. Keen to know how to fix it …
I have this exact same issue in my car. I just bought my new 15 when my 11 broke and I can’t get it to hook up to the new type C aux card I bought. Were you able to fix this issue with your car?
